Board Member - Janet Landon
Janet Landon was the one of the founders and the Principal of Westchester Secondary Charter School. This school, grades 6-12, was designed to serve the Westchester community and those students who had traditionally attended schools in Westchester. It was in this capacity that she developed a relationship with Dr. Moggia as they tackled the many facets of data usage in education. She shares Dr. Moggia’s passion for making data useful and manageable.
In 2017 the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce presented Ms. Landon with a Lifetime Achievement in Education Award, an honor given only twice in its 20 year history. Ms. Landon holds a Bachelor of Science in Drama from the University of Evansville (Indiana), a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Southern Indiana, a credential in Gifted Education from Indiana University, Purdue University Indianapolis, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership (with Honors) from California State University Northridge. She is also credentialed in Secondary English. She has over 30 years of experience in education as a teacher in Los Angeles and Indianapolis. She established the School for Advanced Studies (“SAS”) at Orville Wright where she served as GATE Coordinator and also was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2002.
